What you’ll be doing

Working closely with the Assistant Buying Manager and Visual Merchandiser to deliver the Clothing department Strategy through analysing sales and department data whilst making recommendations on product and productivity of space. Cross functional working is required with Supply, Ecommerce and Finance whilst holding supply base to account on deliverables.

Key responsibilities

Reporting in to the Category Manager, the candidate will be responsible for driving growth in our Childrenswear department alongside the Buyer and Visual Merchandiser with support from the Category Assistant. This small team operates uniquely within Boots as our only apparel department in the business. You will be:

  • Working with the team to deliver the sales budget through providing insight that highlight risk, surface opportunities and shape trading decisions
  • Leading regular data centric reviews to support on forecasted volumes, allocations and future range.
  • Managing sell through and mark downs, considering profit impact
  • Maintain and manage the critical path and handover timings
  • Placing orders via supply base portal and holding all stakeholders to account to ensure stock availability

  • A commercial mindset and proactive approach
  • Role requires intermediate/advanced excel skills and ability to build reports to deliver insights from sales and profit data
  • Strong communication and organisation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple timelines
  • Awareness of competitor activity and ranges of all U.K. main retailers
