A leading utility provider in the region is seeking an Assistant Manager (Health & Safety) in Aberdeen City. The role involves developing health and safety standards, conducting assessments, and providing training to employees. Ideal candidates should hold a relevant degree and have experience in public utilities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Reporting to the Chief Manager (Loss Prevention & Training), the appointee will perform the following duties:
To assist in formulating and reviewing the health & safety standards, procedures, policies and manuals and monitor their implementation and related programmes
To conduct assessments, inspections, audits, incident investigations and root cause analyses in relation to safety and risk for workplaces and work activities
To provide training and organize promotion activities for employees and contractors on health and safety standards and best practices
To advise on any new and upcoming health and safety legislations and enable compliance with the legal requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science or related disciplines
A minimum of 5 years’ work experience, preferably 1 year's working experience in public utilities
Good knowledge in local regulations, standards, codes of practice and EMSD’s Code of Practice for Electricity (Wiring) Regulations
A Registered Safety Officer is a must
Good computer skills of Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Chinese typing
Holder of a valid driving license for Class 1 vehicles
