Assistant Manager – Full Time

Location: Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. Join our family‑owned retail business, providing retail assistance in a friendly, customer‑focused environment.

Contract and Hours
  • Hours: 43 hours across 5 days per week (including at least one weekend shift).
  • Salary: £30,240 – £33,948.94 per annum on a 43‑hour contract.
  • Contract: Permanent, full time.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the shop manager to run an efficient shop and provide excellent customer service.
  • Develop the team of retail assistants through coaching, mentoring and feedback.
  • Act as shop manager in their absence, ensuring customer needs are met, deliveries processed quickly and shop routine completed safely and cleanly.
  • Motivate and guide the team to control operational costs, including shrinkage, waste and payroll.
  • Support recruitment and induction of new team members.
