What will I be doing?

As Assistant Maintenance Manager, you will handle all maintenance issues within the hotel, including daily checks, repair of mechanical and electrical equipment, emergency response, and coordination of renovation projects. You will also lead a small team and develop emergency and energy conservation programmes to ensure guest and member satisfaction and compliance with safety standards.

  • Perform daily checks around the hotel
  • Diagnose, maintain and repair mechanical equipment
  • Diagnose, maintain and repair electrical equipment
  • Respond to mechanical, electrical and plumbing emergencies as they arise
  • Liaise with and direct on‑site contractors
  • Maintain good relationships with internal and external customers
  • Maintain all hotel fixtures and fittings, taking action on unsafe situations
  • Manage a small team to ensure tasks meet highest standards
  • Develop, implement and direct all emergency programmes
  • Develop and manage energy conservation programmes to minimise expenses
  • Coordinate renovation bidding, define cost and scope, and oversee contractors for quality and cost‑effective work
  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned
  • Ensure health and safety of the hotel, including monthly inspections and staff training
What are we looking for?

We are looking for a candidate who brings advanced knowledge of building management and engineering, strong mechanical and electrical expertise, and a commitment to exceptional customer service. The ideal applicant will have experience managing projects, strong PC skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.

  • Good knowledge of ventilation systems/HVAC, BMS, fire safety and legionella controls
  • Experience planning and coordinating projects
  • Strong PC skills including PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Committed to delivering high‑level customer service
  • Flexibility to respond to various work situations
  • Ability to work under pressure and independently
  • Previous experience in a management role
  • Vocational training in engineering or similar field (advantageous)
  • Previous experience in the hotel industry (advantageous)
