We are looking for an Assistant Greenkeeper to maintain and improve the daily maintenance, care and overall appearance of our Rudding Park Golf Courses, to ensure high quality playing services for our guests. You will be working as part of our Greenkeeping team, reporting directly to the Course Manager and Deputy.

What We Are Looking For

• NVQ Level 2 in Sports Turf Maintenance (or equivalent).
• PA1, PA2, and PA6 spraying certificates or chemical applications.
• Chainsaw certificates (e.g., CS30/31) may be beneficial.

Working Conditions

• Hours: Typically a 37-40 hour week, with early starts (often from 6:00 AM) and weekend shifts to prepare the course before golfers arrive.

Environment

• Primarily outdoors year-round, regardless of weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Turf Maintenance: Mow fine turf areas (greens, tees, fairways) using pedestrian and ride‑on mowers; carry out aeration, scarification, and top‑dressing.
• Course Preparation: Prepare the course for daily play by raking bunkers, cutting new holes on greens, moving tee markers, and marking hazards or ground under repair.
• Equipment Operation: Safely operate and perform routine maintenance on a variety of machinery, including tractors, strimmers, and specialised turf equipment.
• Health & Safety: Adhere strictly to Health & Safety policies, including the safe handling and storage of chemicals (COSHH) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Environmental Stewardship: Identify and control pests, diseases, and weeds; manage irrigation and drainage systems; and maintain wildlife habitats.

In Return for Your Hard Work and Commitment We Offer

• Enhanced pay 50p per hour for evening work after 7pm (Sunday – Thursday), £1 per hour for weekend day work until 7pm (Saturdays and Sundays), £1.50 per hour for evenings from 7pm (Friday and Saturdays)
• Service Charge (Tronc) earn up to an additional £5,000 per year
• Company sick pay for up to 4 weeks
