Position Summary

The Assistant Controller will help achieve and optimise the Offsite Europe profitability through providing accurate financial data, challenging the status quo and driving strategic initiatives. Reporting to the Financial Controller for Offsite Europe, this role will be critical in the production of monthly reporting, including completion of monthly journals and reconciliations together with ad-hoc projects. This role will also assist the wider finance team where necessary in the monthly processing of the AP/AR ledger function. We are looking for someone to be a team player and support an efficient and accurate finance function achieving accurate and timely accounting information, sound financial controls and financial process improvements.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the completion of month end procedures and the completion of monthly management accounts.
  • Responsible and accountable for the completion of balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support with the preparation of Quarterly Forecasts and Annual Plan.
  • Maintain accruals and pre-payments.
  • Complete payroll journals and analysis, work with HR on any statutory reporting requirements.
  • Preparation of monthly journals.
  • Complete VAT & Customs returns for the business and provide tax analysis.
  • Responsible for systems maintenance and adherence to policies and procedures, ensuring they are effectively followed to ensure data accuracy and timeliness.
  • Responsibility for ensuring all policies and procedures are compliant with internal/external audits.
  • Leading or supporting finance projects that drive efficiency or profitability.
  • Liaising with other functional managers to provide information as and when requested.
  • Support profitability improvements and simplification through data analysis.
  • Support cross functional business improvement projects.

Person Specification (Essential)
  • Bachelor's degree and/or financial professional qualification (ACCA/CIMA part qualified).
  • Experience working within a finance or other team with demonstrable experience in collaborating with others.
  • Strong numeric/analytical skills and attention to detail/diligence.
  • Experience working with Excel, including the use of pivot tables and formulas.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent organisation skills, with demonstrable experience meeting deadlines.
