Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Financial Accountant within the retail industry, based in Bristol. The role focuses on supporting the accounting and finance department by ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records and reports.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Perform reconciliations, including bank and balance sheet accounts.
• Support the preparation of year-end statutory accounts and liaise with auditors.
• Maintain and update financial records in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes to support financial planning.
• Monitor and analyse financial data to identify discrepancies or improvements.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Submission of monthly UK VAT returns
• Post journals for VAT system
• Provide support for ad hoc finance projects as required.

Profile / Qualifications
