Assistant Farm Manager

Assistant Farm Manager -Taunton, Somerset -£31,000 + £600 / month Housing Allowance

We are recruiting for adedicated and proactive Assistant Farm Managerto support the daily operations of our modern poultry enterprise based near Taunton. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring high standards of bird welfare, biosecurity, and production efficiency across all aspects of farm management.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous poultry experience—preferably within breeder operations, though strong broiler experience will also be considered—to develop their career within a well established and forward-thinking farming business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Farm Manager in the day-to-day running of the farm
  • Oversee bird welfare, feeding and environmental control systems
  • Maintain high standards of biosecurity and health & safety at all times
  • Assist with egg collection, grading and record keeping
  • Monitor bird performance and assist with vaccination and flock management routines
  • Ensure compliance with farm assurance and company standards
  • Supervise and support farm staff where required
  • Liaise with vets, nutritionists and external contractors
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in production efficiency and flock performance
Qualifications
