A leading recruitment firm is seeking an Assistant Accountant in the Rhymney Valley area to support the finance function. This role involves preparing management accounts, supporting the Financial Controller with reporting and budgeting, and contributing to financial control, audit preparation, and process improvements. Ideal candidates should be part-qualified in ACCA or CIMA, possess strong Excel skills, and have a proactive approach. A competitive salary of circa £35,000 per annum is on offer.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified ACCA or CIMA candidate seeking broad exposure across a full finance function.
• Sound understanding of accounting principles and month-end processes.
• Ability to engage with stakeholders across the business.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of monthly management accounts, including journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Support stock accounting processes and assist with group reporting.
• Prepare audit working papers and respond to auditor queries.

Skills

Strong Excel skills, including lookups and pivot tables

Strong communication skills

High attention to detail

Education

AAT Level 4 or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA
