Job description

Location: Tameside, Manchester
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, Long-term (Temp to Perm Available)

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a welcoming SEND primary school to recruit a Qualified Teacher who is enthusiastic, motivated and eager to develop their experience within special educational needs.

This role is well suited to teachers who may be early in their SEND journey, including newly qualified or mainstream‑trained teachers, who are keen to learn, adapt and make a meaningful impact. The school has a strong, experienced support team and provides excellent guidance, training and mentoring.

The pupils are aged 4-11 and have a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), speech and language needs, ADHD, SEMH and complex learning difficulties. Class sizes are small, with a high staff‑to‑pupil ratio to ensure you are fully supported.

Your Role Will Include

• Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons adapted to individual pupil needs
• Creating a safe, nurturing and structured classroom environment
• Working closely with experienced teaching assistants and SEND professionals
• Supporting pupils' social, emotional and communication development, as well as academics
• Implementing guidance from EHCPs with support from the SENCO and wider team
• Monitoring progress and celebrating small but meaningful achievements
• Developing confidence in SEND strategies with ongoing support and training

Previous SEND experience is welcome but not essential - a genuine interest and commitment to learning is key.
