Asbestos Analyst - Bristol

📍 Location: Bristol and surrounding areas

💰 Salary: £28,000 - £38,000 per annum (DOE) + company vehicle + benefits

About the Role

We're looking for a qualified Asbestos Analyst to join our established environmental team based in Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a respected consultancy providing asbestos air monitoring and clearance services across the South West.

You’ll carry out a range of analytical duties on commercial, industrial, and domestic sites, ensuring all work is completed in accordance with HSG248 and UKAS accreditation standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct 4-stage clearance testing and various air monitoring activities (background, leak, reassurance, and personal).
  • Produce clear, detailed reports using in-house software and ensure full compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and colleagues to deliver a high-quality service.
  • Maintain and calibrate sampling equipment in line with quality procedures.
  • Promote best practices in health, safety, and environmental compliance.
Requirements
  • BOHS P403 (Asbestos Fibre Counting) and P404 (Air Sampling of Asbestos and Requirements for a Certificate of Reoccupation Following Clearance of Asbestos) or equivalent RSPH qualifications.
  • At least 12 months' experience in asbestos air monitoring and clearance testing.
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across the South West.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • A professional, safety-conscious attitude and attention to detail.
Desirable
  • Experience with a UKAS-accredited laboratory or consultancy.
  • Familiarity with HSG248 (The Analysts' Guide).
  • Additional asbestos qualifications (P401, P402 etc.) advantageous.
