Textiles, Art & Design Teacher - Walsall Area - January Start - Fixed-Term Contract

Are you a creative, hands‑on Art and Textiles specialist who loves to spark imagination in young people?

Academics are working with a secondary school in Walsall, seeking a Textiles, Art & Design Teacher for a 6‑8 week assignment from January, working three days per week (Wednesday‑Friday).

This is a fantastic role for someone who enjoys project‑based work, practical demonstrations, and guiding students through both technique and coursework development.

The Role
  • Teach KS3 & KS4 Textiles, Art & Design
  • Deliver creative, practical lessons – with a strong focus on textiles techniques
  • Support students with coursework, skills development and presentation
  • Work Wednesday‑Friday (perfect for part‑time specialists or portfolio artists)
  • January start for 6‑8 weeks with possible future opportunities
We’re Looking For Someone Who…
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) in Art, Textiles, DT
  • Has genuine passion for creativity and hands‑on teaching
  • Can demonstrate strong classroom routines while maintaining a positive studio atmosphere

  • Holds a valid DBS or is willing to obtain one quickly
