Overview

The Ministry of Defence employs over 50,000 Civil Servants, with the Army being a major part of the organisation. The Defence College of Support (DCSp) delivers training to Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force service personnel in Supply, Distribution, Driving, Catering, Policing & Guarding and Personnel Administration. The college comprises three schools: Defence School of Logistics and Administration (DSLA) at Worthy Down; Defence School of Policing and Guarding (DSPG) at Southwick Park; and Defence School of Transport (DST) at Leconfield. The college headquarters is at Worthy Down, Hampshire.

This role sits within the Defence Movements Training Squadron (DMTS) based at RAF Brize Norton. The team trains 1,500 trainees per training year. The Training Flight Instructor position offers an opportunity to work in a front-facing military training establishment at Brize Norton, Oxfordshire.

Responsibilities
  • The preparation of lesson plans, employing a wide use of Learning Technologies.
  • Instructional delivery of the courses.
  • Day-to-day course administration and allocation to the invigilation programme.
  • Set mentoring programmes, mentor new trainers, and conduct line management responsibilities as appropriate in their area of responsibility.
  • Initial counselling, coaching, mentoring and duty of care of students, ensuring good conduct and discipline levels are maintained.
  • Supervision of students.
  • Arrange and deliver remedial/extra tuition as required.
  • Identify any errors in the training material and undertake remedial action as part of the validation responsibilities.

  • A 10-minute presentation (with or without aids) on a topic of your choosing may be required.
