Area Sales Manager, Yorkshire

Mission: The Area Sales Manager owns the customer base within the region, builds strong relationships with existing and new clients, and leverages Schneider Electric's offers and services. You will be responsible for achieving targets related to orders, sales, profitability, and strategic initiatives within your customer base. You will develop a strong internal network for support and cultivate deep customer relationships at all levels, leading robust customer and prospect engagement. The role covers the transactional side of the business with a core focus on distributors and smaller contractors.

Key responsibilities
  • Area Sales Strategy – Create a strong area sales strategy focused on growth in the Yorkshire area.
  • Target setting – Establish clear targets for existing customer growth/saturation and new customer acquisition; collaborate with channel and offer marketing to deliver a plan for customer engagement.
  • Financial KPIs – Meet or exceed KPI targets (orders, sales, margin, new customer acquisition, and opportunity win rate); manage MDF and expenses.
  • Key customer relationships – Develop and nurture relationships across channels (Distribution, Panel Builders, Contractors) to grow business with Schneider Electric offers; networking and engagement with customers.
  • Forecasting – Provide formal rolling quarterly forecasts and monthly forecasts; semi-formal updates as required by Regional Director.
  • CRM excellence – Lead in CRM usage, document all interactions and opportunities, and embed a culture of CRM excellence; ensure timely management of opportunities with complete information.
  • Pipeline management – Maintain robust pipeline across the area with short-, medium-, and long-term views; sell Schneider End to End with a mix of offers aligned to channel/segment; establish workstreams to improve win rate and time to close.
