Location: Manchester

Type: Contract (hybrid) – until July 2026

About the Role:

Our client is looking to recruit a motivated Technical Architect or Technologist to join their Manchester team for the architectural design of industrial projects within a multi-disciplinary environment. This particular contract will involve a large-scale manufacturing facility in the Northwest.

While experience in the Defence sector would be advantageous, it is not essential if you have a proven track record in delivering complex industrial projects.

About the Client:

Our client is a leading multi-disciplinary practice with a global reputation for design excellence and innovation. With over 300 professionals in their Manchester hub alone, they deliver projects across Education, Commercial, Energy, Defence and Workplace sectors.

Their collaborative culture means you’ll be working alongside Architects, Technologists, Interior Designers, Engineers and Process Specialists – all focused on solving complex design challenges. People are at the heart of their success, and mentoring, training and supporting staff are central to their ethos.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver building and facility designs for industrial processes from concept to completion (with emphasis on RIBA Stages 2-4).
  • Work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring design co-ordination, clash detection, and model management.
  • Engage with stakeholders through strong interpersonal, drawing and modelling skills.
  • Develop specifications, materials selections and detailed design solutions, using NBS software.
  • Use Revit proficiently (BIM Level 2), along with advanced collaboration software such as Navisworks for model checking and clash/interface management.
  • Apply strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage workloads under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Adopt a flexible and positive approach, bringing a proactive and collaborative mindset to the team.
What Our Client is Looking For:
  • ARB registered Architect or Chartered Member of CIAT.
  • Demonstrable experience across large-scale and industrial projects.
  • Good knowledge of UK Building Regulations.
  • Strong Revit and BIM expertise.
  • Ability to obtain SC clearance (or already holding clearance is desirable).
What Our Client Offers:
  • Long-term contract until July 2026.
  • Hybrid working arrangement.
  • Opportunities to work on exciting, high-profile industrial projects.
  • Travel, accommodation and subsistence expenses when attending site or other offices.
  • A supportive, inclusive and collaborative working environment.
Eligibility:

This role requires Security Clearance (SC) prior to commencement. Candidates must have proof of at least 5 years’ residency in the UK.

Opportunity for Growth:

This is a chance to work within one of the UK’s leading multi-disciplinary practices, on projects that shape the future of industrial design. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of key aspects of project delivery, collaborate across disciplines, and build a strong career profile within a dynamic environment.
