A local authority in Yorkshire is seeking an apprentice for their Highway Maintenance team. This role involves working 37 hours per week, with a pay starting at £24,404 for candidates over 21. The apprenticeship will provide on-the-job training in road and footpath maintenance. Applicants should have GCSEs in English and Mathematics and must be self-motivated with strong communication skills. Under 25s are particularly encouraged to apply.

The Highway Maintenance team at Hedon are seeking an apprentice to work within the frontline Highways operational team, for 37 hours per week. With a basic pay for the successful candidate of £24,404 (grade 2b) per annum for those over the age of 21, should you be under the age of 21 the basic pay would be 70% of this amount, £17,082 per annum.
The qualification offered as part of the apprenticeship, is aimed at those who do not have a full working knowledge of the role and who will, under supervision work as part of a team learning on the job. You will undertake operations associated with the maintenance and construction of roads/footpaths, bridges, winter maintenance, surface dressing, paving and drainage improvement schemes.

You will need to hold GCSEs in English and Mathematics (at a minimum, of level 4 or equivalent). This is a structured training role and day release to college will be required.
