A leading NHS Trust in Norwich seeks a motivated Apprentice Patient Pathway Co-ordinator to enhance the patient journey in Gastroenterology. You will be responsible for coordinating appointments, ensuring timely care for patients referred on a cancer pathway, and making sure all their needs are met. This role offers an opportunity to gain valuable skills in a supportive environment dedicated to patient care and teamwork. We are very proud of our Apprentice success rates, with 92% of Apprentices successfully obtaining a substantive post within the Trust at the end of their Apprenticeship contract, and 98% of Apprentices having further plans in place following their Apprenticeship e.g. going on to further education, joining the NNUH staff bank or obtaining employment at another organisation.
An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and organised Apprentice Patient Pathway Co-ordinator to join the Gastro Department.
Our department is split up into sub-specialties; Hepatology/Pancreatic; Nutrition; Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). We operate outpatient clinics, inpatient endoscopy and outpatient endoscopy and have an allocated ward for patients.

A patient pathway co-ordinator plays a key role in making sure a patient's care journey runs smoothly, safely, and on time, especially for referrals, diagnostics, and treatment when referred into Gastroenterology on a cancer pathway. You will be required to co-ordinate appointments, monitor waiting lists and liaise with clinical/admin teams and patients,
As a busy department our patients are at the heart of everything we do and being focused on delivering the quality of care that our patients expect, in a timely manner is vital in this role.
You will work as part of a busy team and respect and integrity are an essential part of the ethos of working together that drives our department. This is a busy role with varying demands, so building an effective rapport with colleagues and being ready to take their guidance and offer your support will be really important.
