Responsibilities

As an Apprentice Building Surveyor, you'll work closely with an experienced and supportive Building Surveying team, gaining hands‑on experience while studying towards a recognised qualification. You'll be involved in a wide variety of professional surveying and project‑based work, with structured training and mentorship throughout your apprenticeship.

  • Assisting with building condition surveys and defect inspections
  • Supporting the preparation of technical reports and client documentation
  • Helping produce specifications, schedules of work and tender information
  • Assisting with contractor tender reviews and basic contract documentation
  • Attending site inspections to observe quality, programme and health & safety
  • Supporting fee tracking and basic project administration
  • Attending client, consultant and contractor meetings alongside senior surveyors
  • Travelling to sites across the region as required
Requirements

  • A strong interest in Building Surveying and the construction industry
  • A relevant qualification (A‑levels, T‑Level, HNC/HND or similar) or practical experienceA willingness to study towards a Building Surveying degree and RICS accreditation
  • Good communication skills and a professional, proactive attitude
  • Basic IT skills (AutoCAD knowledge is beneficial but not essential)
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (preferred)
