Salary: £26,795.04 to £27,846 FTE (CC_34 to CC_36)

Terms & Conditions: Full Time (37 hours/52 weeks), Teaching Contract

About the Role

Based at our Bicton College campus in East Devon, we are looking for an experienced individual to be part of the delivery team for our Animal Science teaching programmes. The role includes teaching and assessing learners in a range of animal subjects from Level 1 to Level 3 both in the classroom and in a practical environment. Practical lessons include working with exotic species, small and large mammals, fish and birds in our state of the art, zoo‑licenced animal unit.

Skills & Experience

We are looking for candidates with broad experience in the animal industry, an animal science‑based background would be useful. Previous teaching experience is not essential, however, being able to demonstrate training or development of staff in the industry would be advantageous. We welcome applicants with a wide skillset and experience in an animal setting, with a passion to transfer these skills to learners. An interest in aquatics and reptiles would be of benefit. Qualifications at Level 4 or above are required and a teaching qualification is desirable. It is essential to be willing to work towards a teaching qualification if one is not currently held.
