A private healthcare facility in Hatfield is looking for an experienced Anaesthetic and Recovery Practitioner to join their theatre team on a part-time basis. In this role, you will deliver high-quality patient care, lead a clinical team, and ensure safety and compliance in the theatre environment. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, individualised patient care in the PACU.
  • Lead and support a clinical team, mentoring and assessing staff.
  • Ensure all safety checks and infection control standards are maintained.
  • Participate in audits and clinical governance activities.
  • Lead clinical cases and organise theatre activities.

Anaesthetic and Recovery Practitioner

One Hatfield Hospital, part of Phoenix Hospital Group, are pleased to offer an excellent opportunity for an experienced Anaesthetic and Recovery Practitioner to join their established and professional theatre team on a part-time contract.

Reporting to the Anaesthetic and Recovery Lead and Theatre Manager, the successful Anaesthetic and Recovery Practitioner will play a key role in ensuring exceptional patient care and safety in a fast-paced theatre environment, supporting both the Anaesthetic and Recovery Lead and Theatre Manager.

Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse (NMC) or Registered Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC)
  • Minimum 2 years experience as an anaesthetic, scrub, or recovery theatre practitioner
  • Experience in a senior practitioner role
  • Evidence of continuous professional development and its application
Skills
  • Strong knowledge of anaesthetic and post-operative care
  • Ability to lead and manage a team effectively
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills
  • Flexible and adaptable to meet changing business needs
  • Private healthcare experience is desirable

Main responsibilities & duties of the role :
  • Deliver high-quality, individualised patient care in the Post‑Anaesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
  • Lead and support a clinical team, including mentoring and assessing staff competencies
  • Ensure all safety checks, documentation, and infection control standards are maintained
  • Participate in audits, continuous improvement initiatives, and clinical governance activities
  • Take a lead role in clinical cases, organising theatre activities and maintaining a safe environment
  • Support new business initiatives and contribute to service development
