A regional ambulance service in England is seeking enthusiastic Ambulance Care Assistants to transport non-urgent patients. The ideal candidate will possess customer care experience and a full UK driving licence. You will work in various settings and receive comprehensive training. We are currently looking for enthusiastic and passionate Ambulance Care Assistants to transport our patients, who are frail or need specialist assistance, to and from appointments at hospitals, treatment centres and other similar facilities.
If you have experience of caring for people with proven customer care and communication skills with the public, then we would like to hear from you! You will need to be flexible, adaptable, and at times, discreet. A good sense of humour and local knowledge of the area you are applying to work in will also be an advantage.

The Ambulance Care Assistant is responsible for the transportation of non‑urgent patients to and from health/social care premises and private residences. The role requires a professional and caring attitude, teamwork, and a full UK manual car driving licence with at least one year of driving experience (a maximum of three penalty points will be considered for a minor motoring offence).
Your role with EEAST will start with a 3‑week paid training course (Monday–Friday) which takes place in Welwyn Garden City. The training covers clinical training to be a ‘First Person on Scene,’ patient transport driver training, and includes a full uniform. You must attend and successfully complete the course. Travel expenses for the training will be reimbursed in line with Trust policy.
You will work in a team of two, or on your own, undertaking duties in a variety of vehicle types across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. The team delivers 24‑hour, 365‑day urgent care to those in need of emergency and non‑emergency medical treatment and transport.
