An educational institution is seeking to recruit two Alternative Provision tutors to support an increasing cohort of students with special educational needs in Hull. The role involves working alongside teachers to provide learning and pastoral support for students. Successful candidates will have experience with SEND and will assist in teaching individuals or small groups. Due to expansion, the Academy are seeking to recruit two additional Alternative Provision tutors, to support the increasing SEND cohort within the school.
The Compass Academy is a KS3 Alternative Provision Academy which supports pupils from across the city of Hull and outer areas. Many of our pupils have been permanently excluded or have identified SEND needs which cannot be met within a mainstream environment.
This role will work with teachers to provide teaching, learning and pastoral support by working with individuals or small groups of students under the direction of teaching staff and pastoral leaders. On occasion, staff may be responsible for some learning activities within the overall teaching plan.
