Alternative Provision Quality Assurance Officer

📍 Swindon Borough Council

💰 £64 per hour (Umbrella) (£47 PAYE per hour)

🕒 Full-time, 37 hours per week

📅 Initial 4-month contract

About the Role

Swindon Borough Council is seeking an experienced Alternative Provision (AP) Quality Assurance Officer to support the implementation of the council's three-tier model of Alternative Provision, in line with national policy and the Change Partnership Programme (CPP).

This role will play a vital part in ensuring that children and young people receive the right support at the right time and in the right place, helping more pupils remain in mainstream education wherever possible.

You'll work closely with the AP Operational Lead and Commissioning Team to implement and maintain robust quality assurance processes across all AP settings. This includes recording, reviewing, and assessing education offers and individual learning plans for children and young people in AP.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of the AP Implementation Plan in collaboration with the AP Operational Lead.
  • Undertake quality assurance activities across all alternative provision settings.
  • Review and monitor Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Support commissioning processes and contribute to continuous improvement across AP services.
  • Ensure compliance with local and national standards and contribute to a culture of high-quality educational outcomes for vulnerable learners.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in Quality Assurance within education or local authority settings.
  • Knowledge of Alternative Provision and the challenges faced by children and young people requiring additional support.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
