The Role

This is a key role to the success of our academy and our community. We are seeking an Alternative Provision Manager to lead and develop our on-site Alternative Provision (AP) and Learning Support Centre. As an academy, we want to meet the needs of our learners within our staff team.

This is a strategic and hands-on role, focused on improving life chances for our most vulnerable learners by:

  • Embedding interventions alongside curriculum work to address their barriers to success.
  • Preparing students for reintegration into mainstream lessons and supporting next steps in education.
  • Reducing exclusions and suspensions and increasing attendance.
  • Delivering a nurturing environment and bespoke curriculum tailored to individual needs.
  • Working closely with the Vice Principal, SENDCO, and Pastoral team to ensure high-quality provision and safeguarding.

Working Hours: 8am-4pm Term Time Only: 39 weeks per year plus an additional two weeks in Academy closure periods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations of AP, including attendance, behaviour, and wellbeing tracking.
  • Deliver sessions to students to support both academic and holistic goals.
  • Develop and implement personalised, inclusive curriculum plans.
  • Monitor and evaluate teaching and learning within AP.
  • Liaise with external agencies (e.g., CAMHS, Educational Psychologists) to secure best outcomes.
  • Lead on assessment, reporting, and parent engagement for students in AP.
  • Contribute to staff CPD and share best practice across the academy.
