MSF UK is seeking an all-round logistician for dynamic roles in varied contexts. The position encompasses logistics, HR, and finance management, along with supervising local staff and ensuring efficient operations. Candidates should demonstrate flexibility and a broad skill set to adapt to diverse task requirements and work environments.
Working with us as an all-round logistician is a diverse and rewarding experience.
From human resources and finance to management of communications equipment, supply management, vehicle maintenance, and sometimes even water and sanitation, our all-round logisticians are often found on smaller Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) projects where a limited team is required.
The role can include human resource, finance, and logistics managers, maintenance managers, project managers, support services managers, facilities managers, mechanics, electricians, builders, and plumbers.
Responsibilities
All-round logisticians come from various backgrounds but share one key trait: flexibility.
In high-security contexts where only a team of four can be deployed, an all-round logistician usually participates as part of the team. On smaller projects winding down and handing over to local authorities, the logistician manages all non-medical aspects of the work. This makes it a dynamic and varied role, requiring versatile individuals.
Responsibilities may include:
Training, supervising, and managing local logistics staff is a core responsibility. An all-round logistician often oversees multiple non-medical departments, delegating tasks and building capacity among local staff to ensure safe, fair working conditions and effective departmental administration.
