A leading aviation company in the UK is looking for skilled Aircraft Mechanical Fitters to support the movement and maintenance of their rotary-wing aircraft fleet. This 6-month contract role requires an apprenticeship in Aircraft Maintenance and thorough knowledge of aircraft systems. Successful candidates will provide operational support, conduct inspections, and ensure safe aircraft operations. Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of engine and airframe systems is essential.

• Conduct maintenance inspections and repairs.
• Work to ensure continued safe operation of the aircraft.
• Assist in running the aircraft Hangar.

Job description

Carbon60 is seeking skilled and experienced Aircraft Mechanical Fitters to join their dynamic client based in Shropshire. As an Aircraft Mechanical Fitter, you will play a crucial role in supporting the movement, Line and Base Maintenance of the company's UK MFTS (Rotary Wing) H135 / H145 fleet.

This is a 6 month contract that is likely to be extended. Due to the nature of our client you will need to be able to obtain SC clearance. You will also need a Driving License.

28.16ph Umbrella or £21.05 PAYE

Responsibilities of the Aircraft Mechanical Fitter

• Provide engineering operational support to Flight Operations
• Accomplish Maintenance inspections and repairs as directed by nominated Shift Supervisor or Certifying Engineer
• Work to high standards to ensure continued safe operation of the aircraft
• Complete maintenance, including airframe structure, power plant, mechanical and electrical systems in accordance with written instructions
• Conduct off-aircraft mechanical, power plant, component and composite technical work in workshops as required
• Assist in the day-to-day running of the aircraft Hangar, including aircraft movement and general housekeeping responsibilities

Qualifications and Experience

• Apprenticeship in Aircraft Maintenance or a related discipline (Essential)
• Thorough knowledge of engine and airframe systems (Essential)
• Knowledge of specialised test equipment relating to engine and airframe systems (Essential)
• Up-to-date knowledge of Flight / Airport Operations, Aircraft Line Maintenance, and Aircraft Base Maintenance (Essential)
• Experience in Base Maintenance and Flight Operations / Line Maintenance (Essential)
• Knowledge of UK Military Aviation and UK MFTS (Desirable)
• Experience in Military Aviation (Desirable)
