A construction services organization in the UK is looking for an Air Tightness Engineer to conduct air tightness and acoustic testing in North West England. Qualifications

  • Background/previous experience in engineering, surveying, building, construction, etc.

  • An understanding and knowledge of a building's anatomy.
  • Computer literate.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for carrying out air tightness testing across the Midlands area.
  • End-to-end management of client engagement; arranging site visits and explaining design features.
  • Undertake design reviews with Site Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Architects, and Regional Managers.
  • Identify potential problems and/or weaknesses with the building design.
  • Suggest cost effective ways to improve the energy efficiency of the building.
  • Undertake pre-test audits.
  • Produce detailed technical reports to identify potential leakage areas.
  • Compliance with Part L Building Regulations.

Overview

A well established construction services organisation with offices across the UK and Europe currently has an urgent requirement for an Air Tightness Engineer to complement their team of engineers. You will be responsible for carrying out air tightness and acoustic testing across the North West England area for a number of high profile public and private sector clients. Experience / Qualifications

Duties
  • Responsible for carrying out air tightness testing across the Midlands area.
  • Responsible for end-to-end management of client engagement; arranging site visits, pre-engagement with the site manager to ensure pre-site checks had been conducted, explaining design features and faults to the site manager, explaining where improvements can be made to the design of the building;
  • Undertake design reviews with Site Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Architects, and Regional Managers.
  • Identify potential problems and/or weaknesses with the building design
  • Suggest cost effective ways to improve the energy efficiency of the building.
  • Undertake pre-test audits
  • Produce detailed technical reports to identify potential leakage areas
  • Compliance with Part L Building Regulations
Projects / Clients
  • Types of properties include Public and Private sector buildings ranging from single house tests to large scale development testing.
