YOUR ROLE

We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Air Import Operator to join our Air Operating Centre based in Hounslow, London Heathrow. In this fast-paced environment, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of time-critical air import shipments.

This is a 4 on 4 off position, working 7am – 7pm. Due to the nature of the role and customer security clearance it is essential for the successful candidate to have resided in the UK for a minimum of 5 years.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

• Communicate daily with the Control Tower to provide shipment updates and coordinate operational requirements.
• Monitor incoming aerospace parts and ensure timely follow-up on all air import shipments.
• Arrange bookings for deliveries and ensure all required information is accurately entered into the system.
• Ensure bookings and shipment details are uploaded correctly into shared platforms for the customs team to process and clear goods.
• Liaise with the gateway/arrival team on shipment status and any operational matters.
• Coordinate with the origin team to obtain and verify all necessary documentation.
• Handle invoicing for assigned import jobs in a timely and accurate manner.
• Request clearance instructions from customers and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Process road freight arrivals linked to air import shipments.
• Keep the Control Tower updated with estimated time of arrival (ETA), clearance status, and expected delivery timelines.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

To be successful in this role you will have experience gained within Airfreight and be able to demonstrateknowledge and understanding of import, it is advantageous if you have experience with Cargo wise. It is essential you possess excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to problem solve and build and maintain customer relationships.
