Location: Bicton

Salary: £26,301.64 - £27,088.08 FTE (Includes Market Premium)

Terms & Conditions: Full Time (37 hours/52 weeks), Support Contract

About the Role

Bicton College is seeking a motivated and skilled Agriculture Practical Instructor to deliver hands-on training to apprentices and further education (FE) students on Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 programmes.

This is a practical role focused on developing students' technical abilities across a wide range of agricultural activities, including livestock husbandry, crop production, machinery operation, and estate skills. You will be working in real-world farm settings on the college estate, supporting students to gain the confidence, competence, and professional standards required for a successful career in agriculture.

Skills & Experience

  • At least 2 years' recent experience working in the agriculture industry.
  • Strong practical background in agriculture with skills in livestock, crops, and machinery.
  • Relevant industry-recognised qualifications (e.g. tractor driving, telehandler, ATV, livestock handling, spraying, etc.).
  • Experience in training, mentoring, or supporting learners in a practical environment.
  • A teaching or assessing qualification (e.g. TAQA, A1) is desirable but not essential—training and support will be provided.
  • A genuine passion for supporting the next generation of agricultural professionals.
