Job summary

Candidates must possess ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent qualifications, and have a minimum of 3 years’ experience within a practice. Additionally, experience with rural businesses is desirable. Competitive salary offering between £49,000 and £65,000 plus benefits.

Job Role

In this role, you will manage a portfolio of clients, delivering accounting and tax planning solutions tailored to their needs. You will build strong client relationships to ensure effective project delivery, support the growth and development of team members, and provide bespoke solutions for key rural clients.

Location: Banbury

Salary Package: £49,000 - £65,000 depending on skills and experience plus great company benefits

Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional client service across accounting, tax, and advisory matters in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Respond promptly to client and third‑party queries.
  • Review accounts and tax returns for corporate and unincorporated clients.
  • Develop in‑depth knowledge of clients and their businesses, becoming their main point of contact for day‑to‑day matters.
  • Delegate routine work and take on more advanced assignments to support team development.
  • Assist in managing the Agriculture and Property Department, including staff appraisals, monitoring, delegation, and training.
  • Identify tax planning, VAT, NIC, and business planning opportunities.
  • Support partners on specific assignments, including business planning and advisory work.
  • Monitor and control WIP, ensuring work is completed efficiently and billed promptly.
  • Plan and progress work effectively to meet deadlines for accounts, tax returns, and company reporting.
About You
  • ACA, ACCA, CTA qualification, or equivalent experience is essential.
  • Minimum 3 years’ accounts and tax experience within a practice is essential.
  • Manager‑level experience in a practice is desirable.
  • Experience with rural businesses is desirable.
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation and taxation.
  • Efficient review and completion of accounts and personal tax returns.
