Advocacy clerking plays a crucial role in the effective management of cases dealt with by the Crown Prosecution Service, primarily in the Crown Court.
As an advocacy clerking manager, you lead and support a small team of clerking assistants within the Crown Advocacy Unit (CAU), ensuring the team is in line with the Crown Prosecution Service Advocacy Strategy. Your role involves overseeing the team day-to-day, their performance, and wellbeing.
Reporting to the B2/HEO manager, you are responsible for fostering a positive team environment and ensuring effective clerking. A key part of your role is to build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including chambers' clerks and Crown Court listings teams, ensuring regular engagement and communication.
