Job summary

A leading educational support provider in the UK seeks a qualified educator to improve the educational outcomes of children in care. You will support school leaders and staff, ensuring barriers to success are addressed through targeted interventions. This hybrid position necessitates travel to various schools both in and out of London. Candidates must hold Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) and have experience teaching at least two key stages to be considered for this impactful role.

Job description
JOB PURPOSE:
  • Use extensive knowledge to make a positive impact on the achievements of children in care and previously looked after children.
  • Support, advise and challenge school leaders, social workers and school staff in order to identify barriers to children in care achieving in education by helping them to develop strategies to improve their educational attainment.
  • Delivering high quality training and support for carers and Designated Teachers in schools, you will ensure statutory duties and best practice standards are met.
  • Use a high level of technical knowledge in relation to all aspects of education, including Special Education Needs, exclusions, and behaviour management to focus on progress, needs identification, attendance, carefully targeted intervention and enrichment provision, which will meet academic, social and emotional needs.
REQUIREMENTS:

The candidates need to have an understanding of what a Virtual School is for.

Candidates need to have qualified teaching status (QTS)

Candidates should be advised that this is a hybrid role and not home working there will be an expectation to travel to schools outside of London as well as in borough. Outside of London schools travel warrants will be provided.
