Job summary

A leading healthcare provider in Dunoon seeks 2 Band 7 Advanced Nurse Practitioners to join their Ambulatory Emergency Care Team. The role involves supporting patient assessment, care planning, and leadership within the team. Applicants must have an NHS approved advanced clinical assessment module and NMC registration as a non-medical prescriber (V300). Full or part-time hours are available. Informal inquiries encouraged. Our overriding aim is to support individuals to maintain their independence at home, prevent unnecessary admission and support people to regain independence after they have left hospital.

An opportunity has arisen for 2 x Band 7 Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join the newly implemented Ambulatory Emergency Care Team on site. This service is a new initiative within the Cowal area, and is geared towards preventing unnecessary unplanned attendance, unplanned admission, onwards transfer by providing assessment, treatment and care in the right setting.

Our current Community Hospital Team consists of Rural Emergency Physicians, Senior Change Nurses, Staff Nurses and a range of AHPs and Social Workers who work collectively to deliver A&E and Inpatient services. Our service covers A&E, day services, trauma, inpatient services and ambulatory emergency care. If you have experience in any of these specialties please get in touch to discuss specific opportunities. The team also have direct interface with acute services within Greater Glasgow and Clyde (GGC).

The ANP will act to support the assessment, treatment and ongoing care planning/management for eligible patients as part of our alternatives to admission/Urgent Care Pathways. There will be a clear focus on specific clinical presentations, in line with available expertise and diagnostic capabilities on site. The unit will actively contribute towards our Frailty at the Front Door approach.

As well as supporting the Hospital MDT, the ANP will be expected to provide vital leadership, teaching, quality improvement and audit worksteeams which enable our Practitioners to achieve the four pillars of practice.

You must have completed an NHS approved advanced clinical assessment and history taking module at degree level and also be registered with the NMC as a non-medical prescriber (V300) and have significant experience working in acute inpatient services at advanced practice level.

Full or part time hours are available with fixed term and secondment considered. Please state your preferred hours on application.
