Job description
Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our Primary Care team at HMP Wakefield, a category A Prison located in West Yorkshire.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Long days and nights. 4 days – Monday, Tuesday and Friday, with Wednesday or Thursday as flex. This full-time position offers an annual salary up to £64,471 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and, due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

Main duties of the job
  • Demonstrate judgement in assessing and managing wide-ranging and complex patient problems
  • Provide clinical leadership for the mental health team. This multi-disciplinary team is made up of a variety of registered and non-registered professionals including mental health and substance misuse practitioners
  • Act as a role model, ensuring professional appearance and maintaining professional standards at all times
  • Support senior clinicians on site and be part of the daily leadership team, providing clinical input for all patients
  • As a clinical expert in your field, work with the team to ensure patient safety, management of complex cases, and that up-to-date treatment methodologies are applied to patient care

Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse Adult Mental Health with current NMC registration or Registered Paramedic with current HCPC registration
  • Independent/supplementary prescriber qualification
  • MSc in Advanced Practice
  • Experience working autonomously as an advanced clinical practitioner following best practice guidance

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
