Job description

Peartree and West Horndon Surgeries are looking to recruit an advanced clinical practitioner to join our multi‑disciplinary team to help us transform and modernise pathways of care enabling the safe and effective sharing of skills across traditional professional boundaries.

The successful candidate may come from a range of professional backgrounds. As an experienced healthcare professional educated to masters level they will have developed the skills and knowledge to allow them to take on an expanded role and scope of practice caring for patients.

The post-holder will:
  • demonstrate a high level of expertise within the specialist service providing advice, education and support to staff, patients, their families and carers.
  • be practising autonomously as an advanced clinical practitioner within the designated speciality area to provide patient‑centred clinical care. This will encompass the skills of advanced clinical assessment, examination, diagnosis and treatment within an agreed scope of practice throughout the directorate.
  • support new ways of working that emphasise a more efficient and patient‑focused service and will ensure the safe treatment, referral and discharge of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed presentations in their area.
  • have responsibility for leading the on‑going development of clinical practice and standards of care within the service, including the development of policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines in collaboration with multidisciplinary colleagues.

About Us

Peartree and West Horndon Surgeries are a patient‑focused and excelling health care provider for patients in South Ockendon and West Horndon localities. We currently consist of 7600 patients with our West Horndon site as a dispensing practice. We are constantly looking to improve our practices and take on new staff to help further our goal of great healthcare. We try to work in a family type environment and look after our staff and colleagues. Our surgery has 3 partners and one nurse. Our dispensing team consists of 4 pharmacy dispensers.
