We have an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our Primary Care Team at HMP Altcourse, a category B prison located in the Fazakerley area of Liverpool. Salary: This position is full time, you’ll receive a salary of £66,792 per annum. Hours: This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. Monday‑Friday 8am‑4pm

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

Main duties of the job
  • Demonstrate judgement in assessing and managing wide ranging and complex patient problems
  • Provide clinical leadership for the mental health team, This multi-disciplinary team is made up of a variety of registered and non-registered professionals including; mental health, and substance misuse practitioners
  • You will act as a role model ensuring professional appearance and maintaining professional standards at all times
  • Supporting senior clinicians on site you will be part of the daily leadership team, providing clinical input for all patients
  • As a clinical expert in your field, you will work with the team to ensure; patient safety, the management of complex cases and ensure the most up to date treatment methodology is applied to patient care.

Qualifications required
  • Registered Nurse Adult Mental Health with current NMC or Registered Paramedic with current HCPC
  • Independent/supplementary prescriber qualification
  • MSc in Advanced Practice
  • Experience working autonomously as an advanced clinical practitioner following best practice guidance

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
