Job description
Overview

This job is an opportunity to provide specialist pharmacy services to the cardiology directorate for 12-month maternity leave cover. It is an exciting time to join the cardiology team, as we are mid-way through a 12-month project to evaluate the impact of prescribing pharmacists across the cardiology wards. The post-holder will manage and support a small team of junior pharmacists and technicians to ensure high quality pharmacy services are provided to the 14-bed Acute Coronary Care Unit, 39-bed cardiology ward and the Cardiac Cath lab. We are looking for a dynamic, motivated and forward-thinking clinical pharmacist to work with the cardiology team to enhance the safe and effective use of medicines. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and delivery of a high quality, proactive and patient focussed clinical pharmacy service to the Cardiology services. There will also be opportunities to work with other teams across the areas as part of the Liverpool Adult Acute and Specialist Providers (LAASP) programme.

LUHFT employs over 120 pharmacists across 3 sites providing clinical pharmacy services to all major specialties. This post is based on the Aintree site of the Trust, however, will work closely with the cardiology team based at the Royal. We have a fully integrated electronic prescribing system along with unique in-house systems to help you deliver excellent clinical care to your patients.
