A leading defense contractor in Glasgow is looking for an Advanced Apprentice Burner to manufacture critical components and support various engineering operations. Description

Job title: Advanced Apprentice Burner

Location: Glasgow

Salary: Starting from £18,667 with annual progression through the scheme duration.

What you’ll be doing:

As a Burner, you’ll be manufacturing critical components during key stages of the build process, preparing steel sections and plate to specific engineering requirements, and carrying out testing and inspections. You support the following operations:

  • Playing a pivotal part during our tank testing programme completing air and hydro tank testing activities.
  • Supporting steelwork teams to achieve quality requirements during compartment surveys and inspections.
  • Operation of CNC burning machinery manufacturing key components supporting programme requirements.
  • Utilisation of oxy‑fuel and plasma thermal cutting equipment, producing, manipulating and preparing steel components supporting critical stages of major steelwork assembly.
