Overview

A new opportunity has arisen for an Adoptions Manager to join a well-known developer specializing in open market, affordable and social housing units across Devon and Cornwall. The company has been recognised year on year with NHBC awards in quality, seal of excellence and pride in the job. This role is based in Exeter with regular travel to sites.

Responsibilities
  • Infrastructure Adoptions: Manage the end-to-end adoption process for estate roads, sewers, pumping stations, and public open spaces to ensure timely handover and compliance with relevant standards.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Engineering Manager during the technical approval process to support the development of robust technical agreements.
  • Project Completion Support: Collaborate with the Build and Commercial teams toward the final stages of development to ensure completion of works, reduce errors, and eliminate barriers to adoption or handover.
  • Bond and Agreement Management:
    • Maintain accurate records of company, group, and project-specific bonds.
    • Track all Sectional Agreements (e.g., Section 38, Section 104, Section 278).
    • Report on outstanding bonds and identify any cost or timescale overruns.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify and mitigate risks related to delayed adoptions or handovers, ensuring financial and reputational impact is minimized.
Reporting and Tracking
  • Maintain and update internal trackers for technical agreements, bonds, and adoption progress.
  • Provide regular reporting to senior management on the status of adoptions, outstanding agreements, and associated risks or delays.
