Job Summary

Substance Misuse Recovery Worker – HMP Risley, a Category C male prison in Warrington.

This is a 12‑month fixed‑term, full‑time role (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:00‑17:00) with an annual salary of £25,821–£28,574, depending on experience.

Main Duties
  • Act as the first point of call for the primary care team; answer emails and phone calls, schedule and chase referrals and appointments (internal and external).
  • Assist with patient release and transfer, including follow‑on care and medication management.
  • Use SystmOne (or other NHS systems) to update and maintain patient records.
  • Check patients in for appointments and serve as the admin contact for prisoners, handling healthcare queries and applications.
  • Coordinate bed watch and escorts for external hospital appointments with the wider prison team.
  • Take minutes as required.
