Administrative Support Assistant – Overview
Maiden Erlegh Chiltern Edge is seeking a committed and highly organised Administrative Support Assistant to join our professional support team. This role provides a wide range of administrative, first-aid and operational support, ensuring excellent communication, efficient systems and a high-quality service for staff, students, parents, carers and visitors. You will play a key part in supporting the day‑to‑day running of the school and contributing to an organised, safe and inclusive environment where every student can thrive. The postholder will provide high‑quality administrative support that:
- Enables effective communication with staff, parents, carers, visitors and external stakeholders.
- Supports daily departmental operations and wider school systems.
- Contributes to the organisation and smooth running of extra‑curricular and enrichment activities.
- Ensures reliable first‑aid coverage and general administrative support across the school.
Responsibilities
Essential duties include:
- Support the administration of extra‑curricular clubs and activities to maximise participation and engagement.
- Carry out assigned administrative tasks for departments, ensuring consistent and reliable support.
- Support the administration of educational trips and visits.
- Input, update and manage student data accurately and securely in line with Trust and school procedures.
- Deliver first aid (training provided) and maintain accurate first‑aid records.
- Support wellbeing by responding appropriately to students, visitors and colleagues, escalating concerns when required.
- Assist with general supervision in communal areas to promote a safe and orderly environment.
- Support the organisation and delivery of parents' evenings to ensure high levels of engagement.
- Assist with the preparation and distribution of pastoral documentation, reports and communications.
- Provide first‑class customer service to staff, parents, carers and visitors.
- Uphold high standards of professionalism, confidentiality and integrity.
- Support school and Trust events and contribute to the wider school community.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistent and reliable service.
- Produce and send standard letters and communications using school systems.
- Support departments with preparation and processing of orders using financial systems.
- Maintain accurate filing, archiving and administrative systems.
- Provide cross‑team administrative cover to support absence and ensure continuity of service.
- Undertake any other duties reasonably required within the scope of the role.
Qualifications & Personal Statement Questions

- First‑aid qualification (desirable).

- Able to maintain accurate records and manage administrative tasks reliably.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel (essential).
- Knowledge of Bromcom or similar MIS platforms (desirable).
- Ability to work with tact, sensitivity and confidentiality when dealing with students, staff and parents.
- Ability to contribute to an inclusive school environment.
- Reliable, diplomatic and discreet.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
