Job Description:
Job Purpose: To provide administrative support in the delivery of undergraduate programmes in the School of Biodiversity, One Health and Veterinary Medicine, Undergraduate School Office.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with the timetabling process, including practicals, DOPs, module updates, CMIS & room bookings.
- Provide administrative support to the EMS Office, including data input, updating the Student Experience Log (SEL), and processing health and safety paperwork.
- Monitor student absences, especially for final year rotations and expenses.
- Keep relevant systems, such as MyCampus, up-to-date and accurate.
- Coordinate Induction Week events with course administrators.
- Serve as a clerk on rotational basis for various committees, e.g., BVMS & BSc Programme Boards.
- Undertake other relevant duties as directed by the line manager or course administrators.
Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- Ability to demonstrate competencies required for this role, with relevant knowledge and skills or equivalent qualifications (Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 5 or 6).
- IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Office 365, and Outlook.
- Computer literacy with proficiency in Word and Excel.
- Initiative, judgment, and ability to plan and respond to changing requirements.
- Clear communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- High accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Numeracy skills.
- Self-motivation.
Desirable:
- ECDL certification.
- Knowledge of HE assessment methods and Virtual Learning Environments (e.g., Moodle).
- Experience with university databases like MyCampus and CMIS.
- Experience in an educational environment and working with students.
- Experience in committee minute-taking.
Terms and Conditions:
