Job description
Overview

This role is based at West Cumberland Hospital and will involve covering some weekend working on a monthly rota.

An exciting, full-time post has arisen within the Cumbria Psychiatric Liaison Team working within the West Cumberland Hospital. The post holder will have experience of working in a similar environment and previous secretarial experience is essential due to the demands of the role.

Responsibilities
  • Support the administration function for the team, working alongside Administrators, Administration Manager, Team Managers and Clinical Managers with allocated duties.
  • Provide medical/clinical minute taking support, attend MDT meetings and update RiO on action plans as required.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in the role and contribute positively within a team.
  • Be well organized and structured in approach and participate in relevant training courses appropriate to the role.
  • Maintain a high standard of communication and interpersonal skills to support a patient-, customer- and service-user-focused environment.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience in a customer/patient and service-user focused environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A good understanding of the RiO system (not essential, as training is provided for those who have not worked with it before).
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word/Office packages and typing qualifications.
  • Experience in secretarial roles, ideally within a team-based environment.
  • Ability to be self-directed, motivated and able to contribute positively within a team.

The post holder will be expected to demonstrate the ability to deal with possible exposure to occasionally distressing or highly emotional circumstances and will be expected to participate in all relevant training courses appropriate to the role.
