Job summary

A leading recruitment agency in the UK is seeking an experienced Actuarial Calculations Analyst for a remote role. The ideal candidate will have solid actuarial experience and defined benefits expertise, handling member options calculations and supporting delivery of accurate data true ups. This role initially spans 3-6 months with potential for extension and is deemed inside IR35.

Qualifications

• Able to provide calculation support for standard and non-standard member option calculations.
• Experience of completing member options calculations.
• Support Head of True up, DB Actuary and DB Senior Actuarial Analyst.

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual member calculations and ensure timely delivery.
• Carry out all necessary BAU work for in force business.
• Analyse new scheme benefit data and enable automated tools.

Overview

Contract Actuarial Calculations Analyst - Defined Benefits. Our client is looking for an Actuarial Calculations Analyst with Defined Benefits experience. The assignment has been initially scoped for 3 - 6 months with potential to extend beyond long term thereafter. The role has been deemed Inside IR35.

Skills & experience

• Solid Actuarial experience
• Defined Benefit experience
• Calculations
• Experience of completing member options calculations.
• Able to provide calculation support for standard and non-standard member option calculations
• Analyse new scheme benefit data and enable automated tool (to run and maximise outputs in order to remove manual calculations support).
• Strong IT skills, particularly Excel
• Knowledge of technical actuarial concepts, specifically principles underlying bulk annuity pricing
• Awareness of DB buy in/buy out market, life insurance/relevant regulation.
• Any experience of GMP would be a distinct advantage
• Support Head of True up, DB Actuary and DB Senior Actuarial Analyst in accurate and timely delivery of data true ups.
• Carry out all necessary BAU work for in force business which includes scheme valuations.
• Prepare individual member calculations and ensure they are delivered in a timely and accurate manner.
