Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a purchase ledger role.
  • Confident with Microsoft Excel for financial reporting.
  • Good knowledge of purchase and sales ledgers.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain supplier records and process invoices accurately.
  • Prepare monthly cash flow forecasts and weekly payment runs.
  • Assist in month-end processes and resolve finance queries.

From our headquarters in the UK and our production base in China, we design, build and deliver advanced automated wind‑assisted propulsion systems that help shipowners and operators reduce fuel consumption and emissions - propelling the shipping industry towards a cleaner, more sustainable future.

Our ambition is bold but clear: to save 1,000 tonnes of CO₂ every day by installing 500 Rotor Sails by 2030. Imagine fleets of vessels crossing the world's oceans using our Rotor Sail systems, harnessing renewable wind power to operate more efficiently and responsibly. We're making that a reality, one installation at a time.

In this newly created position as Accounts Assistant, you'll work closely with the Financial Accountant and wider finance team to support the accurate and timely delivery of day‑to‑day finance operations.

This is a hybrid role with 2 fixed days in the London office (Tuesday and Wednesday).

Salary: £25,000-£30,000 (this is the full budget for the role).

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate supplier records, including contact details, payment terms and bank information
  • Review purchase orders for correct coding of supplier accounts & nominal accounts
  • Process invoices with and without purchase orders, ensuring correct approvals at each stage
  • Prepare weekly payment runs and upload/input transactions into the bank system
  • Prepare monthly report on cash flow forecast based on business activities
  • Maintain a clean payables ledger, ensuring prompt allocation of payments, requesting refunds for credit notes, and resolving any payment discrepancies
  • Assist in month end processes
  • Raise sales invoices when required and manage AR
  • Ensure all expenses are processed in a timely manner to run month end
Other Ad-hoc Duties
  • Assist with any ad-hoc reports required
  • Assist with external reports as necessary - Statutory accounts, Tax returns etc
  • Undertake ad-hoc finance duties including resolving finance queries and expense management
Education / Qualifications
  • Good A levels (26 points, BBC) or AAT qualified
Knowledge and Experience
  • Experience within a purchase ledger role (2+ years)
  • Confident on Excel
  • Purchase ledger/sales ledger knowledge
