A local government authority in England is seeking finance professionals to contribute to the Schools Finance Team. The role offers hybrid working arrangements and involves providing financial support to maintained schools, reviewing returns and processing transactions. Candidates should be AAT qualified or have equivalent experience, with strong analytical and communication skills. A competitive salary and commitment to diversity are included.
Salary: £34,434 - £35,412 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week
Location: Hybrid - the team work a proportion of the week remotely or from office locations at Carlisle, Workington or Whitehaven and a proportion of the week from Parkhouse Building (Carlisle)
Contract: Permanent
We are looking for finance professionals (AAT or equivalent experience) who possess strong technical and analytical skills and are keen to make a significant contribution to shaping the future of the Schools Finance Team and Cumberland.
You will be part of a team delivering a range of financial support to maintained schools across Cumberland. Key responsibilities will be to act as a direct contract for schools to support on queries, including reviewing school returns, cash flow requests, budget reports, VAT, and processing transactions. You will also support on grant allocations & statutory returns, as well as the year end closedown process.
