We are looking for a proactive and motivated individual to join our team to support the business in further growing our flagship award‑winning product: AIVR. AIVR (Automated Intelligent Video Review) is a state‑of‑the‑art video technology system used by thousands of people in the rail industry. AIVR has won dozens of awards and is recognised as the market‑leading solution, but we are building many more opportunities both in existing and new markets which will further accelerate our growth.

Role Summary

We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Accountant to join our collaborative finance team. This role is open to individuals who are fully or nearly qualified in CIMA, ACCA, or ACA and who have a strong interest in financial management and business performance. If nearly qualified, we will only consider candidates who are aiming to finish their qualification and become fully qualified.

As an Accountant, you will play a central role in ensuring accurate and timely delivery of monthly management accounts, management accounts analysis and reporting across different areas of the business. As a commercially aware Accountant, you have oversight of proposals and costing of projects, and how these align with the strategic aims of the business.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
  • Analyse and report on the monthly P&L and other financial reports.
  • Provide financial reporting across different areas of the business.
  • Translate financial performance into meaningful insights, KPIs and targets.
  • Support budget planning and forecasting processes.
  • Monitor and support compliance with tax requirements and regulatory changes.
  • Manage initiatives such as R&D tax credits and government schemes.
  • Play a key role in capital expenditure projects.
  • Support the year‑end audit process.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvements across finance processes and controls.
  • Informally mentor and support apprentice accountants.
  • Collaborate with the wider finance team to strengthen its impact across the business.

Experience
  • Strong experience in accounting platforms such as Xero.
  • 3+ years experience in a finance role.
  • A degree or equivalent experience in business or accounting.
  • Qualified or nearly qualified in CIMA, ACCA, or ACA.
  • Experience in VAT or other tax returns (desirable).
  • Experience in R&D, Innovate UK and other government‑funded schemes or initiatives (desirable).
  • Proficient in Excel and Google Sheets, with experience using other Microsoft Office software.
