Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist

Full time, Permanent Post in Acute Medicine

Role and Team

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our Acute Medical team at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

Our team provides input to the emergency department, acute medical receiving unit and the medical wards of this busy acute teaching hospital. We are therefore looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and flexible Occupational Therapist to join our team. This role will require the post holder to support timely assessment of those who can be discharged within a short period of time and those who require assessment to support decision making on their discharge pathway. It will also provide follow up to those patients able to return home with a short period of time once transferred to other clinical areas on site.

Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • Excellent communication, time management and prioritisation skills.
  • A team player and be able to work flexibly across areas within the acute medical remit.
  • A high standard of Occupational Therapy assessment, problem solving and intervention skills.
  • Clinical experience working as an Occupational Therapist within an acute or rehabilitation setting.
  • Experience of providing clinical or nonclinical supervision.
