The University of Edinburgh Business School seeks to appoint two Lecturers in Digital Innovation and Artificial Intelligence within its Entrepreneurship and Innovation Group. We are looking for high‑quality candidates for these appointments who will contribute to the Group’s research and teaching.

Specifically, we are looking for candidates with a strong research profile and the skills appropriate to conducting research and to designing and delivering courses in one or more of the following areas: artificial intelligence (AI) for business and organisation, digital/AI innovation and innovation management, and digital/AI business and transformation. We will candidates with specific expertise in the management of AI as a significant element of their scholarship. We welcome applications from those with a disciplinary background in innovation management, information systems, and computer science.

Regarding teaching, we are looking for candidates with skills appropriate for delivering courses across the undergraduate, masters and executive education levels, and both on‑campus and online. For instance, the successful candidates would be expected to contribute to or lead courses on our on‑campus new MSc Programme in Artificial Intelligence for Business, which starts in September 2026, and/or to our MSc Programme in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and to support the development of our portfolio of AI courses targeting executive education. More broadly, we expect these Lecturers to contribute, as required, to the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Group’s current portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate on‑campus and online courses.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the Group’s research and teaching.
  • Research in AI for business and organisation, digital/AI innovation, innovation management, and digital/AI business and transformation.
  • Design and deliver undergraduate, masters and executive education courses, both on‑campus and online.
  • Lead courses on the new MSc Programme in Artificial Intelligence for Business and/or the MSc Programme in Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
  • Support development of AI courses for executive education.
  • Develop new degree programmes.
  • Maintain teaching excellence in traditional classroom settings and through digital platforms.
  • Guide undergraduate and postgraduate dissertation students.
  • Engage with policy makers, practitioners and other relevant non‑academic stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Strong research profile with at least one publication in a high‑quality journal.
  • Commitment to further research activities, including participation in international conferences, supervision of research students, and involvement in grant applications and consultancy projects.
  • Skills for delivering courses across undergraduate, masters and executive education levels.
  • Experience in both on‑campus and online delivery.
  • Background in innovation management, information systems, or computer science.
  • Expertise in AI management as a significant element of scholarship (preferred).
