Opportunity
The role of the Director of Finance Operations (DFO) is to develop and lead the delivery of both Finance Operations and transaction process improvement within Finance.
Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and manage the Finance Operation Teams in delivering the University’s Finance Strategy, aligning with the complex needs of Colleges and Professional Service Groups.
- Build capability in specialist areas including Payroll, Pensions and Insurance to address current and future challenges.
- Support the development, resilience and effectiveness of Finance Operations, ensuring transactions are accurately processed and reported to agreed timelines.
- Position Finance as a strategic, business-focused professional service, setting and adhering to the highest professional and service standards to ensure financial integrity and effective stewardship.
Skills & Attributes
- Experience of managing teams in large multi-departmental organisations at a senior level (Assistant Director or equivalent).
- Working in high-performing organisations with a progressive approach to developing financial management.
- Success in staff development and training.
- Operating in a strategic finance environment.
- Implementing strategy through highly effective operational plans.
- Operating with an enterprise-wide, integrated finance system in organisations with multiple business units.
- Control and successful delivery of multiple projects to tight timescales.
